Jewish Outreach Congregation Fights for Family

Jewish Outreach Congregation fights for family in two new ways. One, by spreading the teaching of the laws of family by learning Even Hoezer and related works. And two, by founding Shalom Bayis Beth Din, a program that can greatly limit broken marriages and do away with coerced Gittin.

What is the program of learning Even Hoezer?

Jewish Outreach Congregation is launching a program of learning laws of family, marriage, divorce, etc. People learn Rambam, Tur and Shulchan Aruch as a minimum. Those who want more or who want semicha will learn on their level. By learning Rambam we have a good idea what the Tur will say. And when we learn Beis Yosef we have a good idea what the Shulchan Aruch Even Hoezer will say. Once someone has studied these halochose in their basic passages, they can then go over it again, studying carefully the gemoras that are the source of the teachings. People can continue learning going deeper and with various other works, such as Otsar HaPoskim, to learn the halocho limaaseh. Thus, this is a work that can go as far as anyone wants. Everyone should be familiar with the basic teachings. And some will go further and get Semicha on Even Hoezer. Some people have already organized a program for me to teach many people on the telephone. If you are interested write me at dddeid@verizon.net or call 845-578-1917.

Some of those who study Rambam, etc., will become Dayanim in the Shalom Bayis Beth Din project. What is the Shalom Bayis Beth Din project?

Shalom Bayis Beth Din is a project to establish in every Torah community some people who know the laws of family and marriage, who can help sustain marriages and prevent divorce and broken families. One of the great problems is when a couple has a fight and a parent or relative or friend hears about it and begins to tear the marriage apart. Shalom Bayis Beth Din is a neutral group of people who have only Shalom as their goal.

Anyone interested in our program may contact me at 845-578-1917.
